Black Dog

(A Stone Barrington Novel)

For those who aren’t familiar, novelist Stuart Woods wrote a best-selling series featuring the character, Stone Barrington. But after dozens and dozens of books, Stone’s days are numbered. There are probably only two more books until he’s gone forever. Woods passed away in July of 2022, so the series will end with one book currently on the shelf and one more being published.

For Stone, this means he can hook up at least 5 more times. Ha! For me, I have enjoyed all of this series. (Of course the first 20 were much better than the last 20.) Black Dog was entertaining and a nice break from all the serious stuff I read. Like I’ve said before - great vacation book, even though I did not read it on vacation!

Like a Jon Wick movie where you can look up how many people were shot, by what kind of gun, and how many bullets were fired before reloading, I wonder if there is a list of how many hook ups Stone had over the last 20 years?  More than James Bond, that is for dang sure.

So if you have a vacation coming up or a cold and rainy weekend like we sometimes do in Michigan this time of year, I recommend Black Dog. And if you like it, great news—there’s at least 60 more in the series!

PS. I almost always like the rest of the story, but I wish he would have found the right one 40 books ago and stuck with her.
