Route $66,000
I’ve long thought that after my dad was gone, I would disappear on my bike for a month and ride Route 66 (a favorite TV show of my dad’s when he was young).
I shared this plan with him 3 years ago and he responded, “Why wait? Do it now.” Then cancer was discovered and he doubled down with, “You should make Route 66 your goal to get better.” While not cured, I’m doing really well.
So October 10-17, I am going to do 450 miles on this iconic road and raise $22,000 each for 3 different cancer related organizations. Hence Route $66,000!
Day 3
Today I rode for Josie. She's 11, and has multiple myeloma, like me. I've been thinking about her for the past few days, but dedicated my ride to her today. i'm at the half-way mark for my 450 mile Route $66,000 ride. Thankfully I have a great support crew (my mom and dad)--I sure hope Josie does, too.
Route 66,000 - Here I Come!
I know it is late in the year, but during this trip & for the month of October I am fundraising. I’ve been doing this almost 2 decades—no need to miss this year. Unlike the past, however, I am fundraising for 3 organizations. My goal is to raise $22,000 for each. Route 66 - 3 Organizations - $22,000 each. Hence FUNDRAISING $66,000. (I crack myself up.)
