King Rat

This was NOT Shogun! Same author, but a way different story. This is actually the first book that James Clavell wrote, even though it is 4th in the Asian series. King Rat is an autobiography of his life in a Japanese prisoner of war camp during WWII. This story is NOT Hogan’s Hero’s. Yikes!

This book took me a while to get through even though it is a fraction of the length of Shogun. Just a tough story. I am glad I read it as it gives me a perspective of how cruel we can be to each other. It is still happening today all over the world. So sad and so preventable.
