Ozempic

Dr Gregger’s book How Not to Die was recommend to me about 3 months into my cancer journey. What caught my attention was his focus on plant based, whole food diet. (Jeri was trying to get me on this and was 80% successful.). The fact that Gregger backs up all his facts with medical studies is what got me the other 97%. (I still eat pepperoni and real cheese on pizza and have a steak 2-3 times a year.). I have followed and read Dr Gregger ever since.

When I found out late last year that he did a 100 page booklet on Ozempic I picked it up. Knowing nothing about GLP1 but hearing a lot about it almost every day in the news, I thought it would be a good way to get educated with “just the facts”.

Gregger does his usual thorough job. He does give opinions due to lack of long term data in some cases, but he calls it out. Bottom line: (gotta remember he is a whole food plant based person on everything) If you are going to use it, get on it with advice from a doctor, change your eating and emotional habits while on it, and get rid of it in 12 months or less. Like any diet, if you don’t fix the underlying issues, you will have to stay on it for ever, and we have zero long term data to understand what this means.

I recommend the booklet, even if (like me) you have zero plans to ever use a GLP1 drug. It will help to be educated in a quick, facts only, way.
