400 miles out. 12,000 feet down.
We are in day 2 of our Atlantic crossing out of Bermuda. (5 more days to England). The captain let us know at lunch that at 4:10pm today we would be passing over the wreck of the Titanic. Wow!
So weird that the ocean calmed and the fog rolled in about an hour ago. Our ship slowed down and the horn blows every 5 minutes. It is almost as if everyone should be quiet and slow down for a moment to think about that ship and all those people who died and lived.
Titanic: April 14, 1912 - 1,517 died, 710 survived. Sank 2 hours and 40 minutes after striking the iceberg.
