Vegan or “Chegan”?

After a fantastic Lobster Roll in Rockland, Main we found a place to get back on track in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The excursion we were scheduled for got messed up so we set off on our own. What we found was Real Fake Meats. It was fantastic! No chemicals here. This was all natural stuff combined to be similar to meat (and cheese).

I had a hot “Turkey” sandwich. Jeri had a “hamburger” salad. They were really good. They had other fake meats like burgers, pastrami, brats, and all kinds of different cheese (made out of cashews). For a snack later we took back cheese cake, almond butter cups, and granola cookies.

So, what is it—are we vegan or not? We met a waiter last year that had the solution - we are Chegans—Cheat Vegans. When there is a special food (aka Lobster Rolls) we cheat. The rest of the time (aka Real Fake Meats) we are vegan. Ha!
